@ChrisL had the 7" version mounted on his CRF for our CO/UT ride and had good things to say about it. I’m curious but want to see it while riding on a bike, to see how bright the screen is, how the touchscreen does with gloves, etc. Probably shoulda done that on our 3 day ride…
Most guys are good with just 5" but Frenchy wants the full 7"

From the little bit I’ve looked at it, the Carpuride website is like a mattress store; there’s always a “big sale” and the prices are always about the same. Carpuride units are usually a little cheaper on Amazon regardless.
I love mine. With OnX Offroad it’s a really good GPS for backcountry moto trips. Google Maps for finding restaurants and stuff. Managing music and communication is super easy. For what they cost it’s a no-brainer.

Big Rock Moto did a fairly comprehensive review on the BMW version but it is similar to the universal model and there is a 30% off discount code on the page link.

Can the ram mount on the back of the unit be removed so you can use other mounting solutions?

No and that’s the downside. I was able to cobble a solution together but took some MacGuyver stuff to do.
