I grew up in several places during the 60s and 70s, Boulder being one of those places. I also grew up in D.C., Southern MD, Florence IT, Breckenridge CO and Cambridge, MA.

For as long as I can remember I have been attracted to riding motorcycles. I had a mini bike when was very young that I used to get to and from summer swim team practice. I graduated to a CB500 when I was 14. I had a R1100GS for 15 years while living in the Central Rockies. The times that I did go off-road on technical terrain were frightening. So, I mostly rode on the highways and gentle dirt roads. I took an advanced rider’s class that was road oriented and learned a ton …mostly I learned how to temper enthusiasm, keep a manageable and safe pace and practice safe group riding dynamics. I also learned technical aspects of braking, accelerating, traction, cornering, defensive strategies and so forth.

I’m married to a wonderful woman and have an adult daughter.
