At one time I’d have said Gaia, but Outside has let it languish since the team left post-acquisition. I haven’t used OnX beyond exploratory experiments though, but I hear decent things about it from folks I trust. They’ve also continued to put private equity investment into developing the product, so that makes sense. These days I use Gaia to build routes, and use the DMD hardware and software otherwise. Also, Gaia is part of Outside+, for which I am a subscriber because it includes Trailforks, and several other things I use on a regular basis, so it’s not an additional cost.
