I know there’s been threads here and there about fitness in the off season. I’m a recovering CrossFitter, but recently the injuries just outweighed the benefits. But that community led me to HWPO, built by Mat Fraser who won the CrossFit games 5 years in a row.
Anyways, he has an option called HWPO Sweat, it is 45 minutes daily and there are options for bodyweight and “quick” (which is 20 minutes). Part of what I liked about CrossFit was walking in and someone handing you a workout. This app is similar, and you can push or not, all up to you. It is about moving and fitness. No scores etc. just a daily workout that can kick your butt if you push it
They offer a 14 day trial, monthly and yearly options.
I workout at Slammers twice a week for 90 min. and usually swim once a week (was a swim team kid for 16 years). Two mile backward jog/shuffle almost every morning… skip snow and rain days and usually skip weekends because I play in the morning (winter is ski season - been skiing for 56 years - tele mostly and alpine too) ride the moto when skiing is done for the season. Those workouts you guys do …I’m pretty sure I’d struggle with recovery a day or two later. Actually, I know I’d struggle to recover. I don’t feel 63, but I am. I eat really clean …zero processed foods, zero high glycemic foods except berries … tons of protein and tons of fresh veggies. Loads of daily supplements of various assortment. Basically a ketosis centric diet. The idea is to mitigate inflammation as much as possible. Seems to work. I do miss sourdough bread.
I’m down to do a workout collab - but I’m more into strength - lite and endurance. I’ll sprint for 30 sec 3/4 times but that about as intense as I get.
