KOPILOT.ID is an AI-powered emergency medical ID system designed for outdoor athletes and adventurers. You simply stick it on your helmet, and here’s what it looks like (and keep reading for details):
The Hardware
It’s a small NFC (Near Field Communication) tag that can be loaded with emergency information and mounts to a helmet, clips to a pack or goggles, or attaches to a jacket zipper. It’s about the size of a thumbnail, waterproof, and durable — built to handle mud, dirt, water, and both hot and cold conditions.
How It Works
In the event of a significant crash, anyone assisting can scan the KOPILOT tag with their smartphone, which brings up the emergency profile associated with that tag — including emergency contact information, allergies, medications, and other essential details. Importantly, the system requires no batteries, charging, or cell service, and can be tapped with any NFC-enabled smartphone.
The App & AI
It pairs with a free KOPILOT.ID smartphone app, where you enter pertinent info including emergency contacts, allergies, medical conditions and history, and medications. The AI component summarizes and translates your medical profile — delivering an AI-powered summary of key medical information that can be dictated to speak on behalf of the owner in over 20 languages.
