It seems as if Ducati paid attention and fixed 100% of the “quirks” of their V1 Desert X… right after I bought a new ADV bike last December… the previous version, as sexy as it was, had so many knuckleheaded design decisions that it was a non-starter. Now, I’m intruiged.
Someday I will own a Ducati… I’ve wanted one since the Monster was introduced in the 90’s.

No more metal tank, for starters.

And a quick access air filter… no more removing the f’ing tank to clean your filter.

The stock air filter set up was dumb. The carbon Aurora Rally tank with the through tank air filter was the way to go for the V1. Hard to stomach another $5K on top of the bike purchase, but made the bike lighter, gave it more fuel capacity, and provided easy access and greater air flow to the filter.
Agreed!!!
The mister started it for me.
I almost bought one last year, cool machines.
