9/12/25 Sedalia/Canon City Loop

Planning to do this track from Sedalia on Friday 9/12. Meeting at 8:30 am at the general store.

Big Bikes, mostly C some B dirt on the route. Mix of dirt and paved roads.

Be self sufficient, tools, flat repair, etc. Not a “guided ride” but will plan to stay together or regroup at intersections depending on the pace of who shows up. Be able to navigate the track provided. Radio with BCADV settings a plus.

Gas available in Canon City.

That turned out to be a great ride. Nice mix of fast flowy dirt roads, tighter techy 2-track, enjoyable paved sections and scenic byways. Good stuff!

Two Tuaregs and no KTMs on a ride… What are the chances? LOL

Did you get any pics from the shelf road headed south from Cripple Creek to Canon City?

I didn’t :frowning:

Nice! Yeah, that’s a pretty ride and probably great time of year for it. I’ve done it in the summer and it can get hot down there.

Looking forward to feeling better and being able to do the rides that we’ve had on the books for a year, and/or the replacement rides like this one when the big plans fall through. Super bummed to not be riding right now…ah well, be back soon, I’m sure. Looks like a good day. Has Mike signed up for the club yet??

As a newerish rider to adv, this loop, while large, also would be good for other beginners to experience. Limited technical areas, but also enough time in dirt to really get adjusted and more confident on your machine. A mini-bdr, and could even have an overnight in future if necessary. Great day, really enjoyed it.

I also learned I need to take my damn gopro and/or insta360. I had a bear run in front of me, we saw a Moose with its 2 calfs, deer, and cows.

It was cool to see the moose. I have only seen moose on the track before when riding between Rand and Gould, didn’t expect to see them that far south.
