[CANCELLED] Tuesday June 9: S240 above Gold HIll

The first S24O (Sub-24-Hour-Overnighter, pronounced “Ess-Two-Four-Oh”) of the season is next Tuesday. This one is a shorty: meet at Circle K on N. Broadway at 6, ride up Sunshine to Gold Hill, camp above Gold Hill. Back early to start the day on Wednesday morning. This S24O will be more like a sub-13 hour endeavor.

The point of S24O’s is to cheat the system, not plan much, get in a mini-adventure, and be back for work the next morning. These are a super fun, quick way to reset your brain mid-week. It’s also a good way to test new camp gear without a big commitment.

When: KSU at 6pm

Where: :round_pushpin:Circle K, North Broadway

Note: For food, Gold Hill Store closes at 7, and Gold Hill Inn closes at 8pm. We can either eat at one of these two options, or bring camp food. Your call for which you want to do. The camp spot is another 10-15 minutes past Gold HIll. The closest pit toilet is the one behind Gold Hill Store. Be prepared for potentially crazy mountain weather.

I might be able to swing that!

That was a fun spot we found last summer. We just gotta do better about making it back down to Gold Hill in time for food! :tired_face: “I promise we will all order the exact same thing, tip heavily, and leave quickly afterwards!” “No, we are closed.”

Sounds fun. My bike currently in the shop, but if I have it by Tues I’m likely in.

Would love to go on this but Tuesdays are my midnight shift. Hope y’all have a great time though.

Reminder: Tuesday early eve we’ll roll up the hill, camp out above Gold Hill, and be back in town early Wednesday morning. If you’re coming, let me know.

I can’t spend the night because of a super early call time on Wednesday, but I’m planning to come anyway and roll home after dinner.

Bill had an unplanned work trip to Bailey, so we’re rainchecking this one. I’ll reschedule another one in the near future.
