Coming Winter 2026: ADV 101 – A Free Club Education Series

Thanks for the offer Chris. Unfortunately I will already be in Denver at a work event that night and will miss the RevZilla night; maybe the next one though.

I’m interested in car pooling from Longmont.

Niwotians & Longmonsters: I can take 4, or 5 if someone wants to ride in the middle in the back seat. You will come to my house at 5, and we’ll drive down and have dinner somewhere in the neighborhood before Rich’s class starts.

Anyone coming from the east, specifically Thornton/Northglenn area or there about?

Willing to car pool!

Everyone,

We learned that the venue won’t have chairs so please being a camping chair and spares if you have them.

My rig is officially full for carpool duty, unless someone wants to sit in the middle. @jcurry @Rich_Strauss and @Evel-ONievel can roshambo over shotgun. I’m also bringing Mosko bags for @noahnomad and MSR bottles for @Kurdz2408. Am I missing anything?

I need some milk

Are you still planning on grabbing food prior to?

Yeah, at least some of us will get down there around 6 or maybe a little before. No details yet tho.

I’m interested car pooling to the class. I’m close by. I can meet at your house or I’m near Oscar Blues on 95th. I can drive as well. Let me know.

Unfortunately my rig is full, and we’re rolling out around 5.

I’m leaving about that time as well.
See you there.

A couple of us are meeting at Federales for tacos and margs, probably 5:30-5:45 ish. It’s right around the corner from Revzilla.

Thanks @MotoRelief_Mike! Good to meet you, and thanks for coming out.

For homies who don’t know Mike, he runs Motorcycle Relief Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides relief to veterans and first responders with PTSD and other related issues. https://www.motorelief.org

Thank you, Rich and Gino, for taking the lead on presenting last night, for conceiving a well thought out curriculum, and making this series happen! Thank you to Chris and John as well, I’m sure your contributions as BCADV board members behind the scenes were significant.

The intention to create a supportive community with BCADV is very special. In the past I have been reluctant to participate in group rides that I didn’t organize myself with riders that I was familiar with. Riding with BCADV has not only expanded my network of riding buddies but also expanded my view on the potential and value of community.

Recommendation for future presentations: Have an opening slide that is the club values statement that Gino wrote. Give more than you take… Build Trust… Show Up… I think this frames and sets the tone for all member interactions. This is the essence of why BCADV is unique as a moto focused club/community.

That’s a great idea @MotoJason!

We’ve formalized the curriculum for the series.

Class 2: The Gear

I’m going to ride down to the class, fully suited, booted, and loaded out on the 790.

Gino will have his staff helo drop his 501.

I’ll discuss riding apparel, armor, etc from bottom to top. Same with the bike, starting with tires, PSI considerations, luggage systems, properly loading your bike, tools to carry, etc. We’ll also discuss navigation and comm systems.

This the class that will save you thousands in gear purchases, showing you what to consider and why, for your own setup, because we’ve already made all of the mistakes, so you don’t have to! :+1:

Class 3: The Ride
As a BCADV member, this is probably one of the more valuable classes, as it will be a deep dive into the SOPs we’ve developed to plan, organize, lead, and participate in our group rides.

The processes we’ll discuss work regardless of group size – whether it’s you and your 2 homies, or a full on 20-30 person ride, broken into smaller 4-8 person teams.
