KTM’s Crisis & Comeback… and how Bajaj came to the rescue

Good watch / listen

Given the position he’s in, he did a decent job blaming bad mgmt decisions and unhinged growth tactics. I wish the interviewer would’ve asked point blanks about the cheese cam issue, scale, etc. That said, I have noticed that KTM now offers a 4 year warranty on the LC8c and LC8 range of bikes. 4 years is damn good.

Yeah, I believe he pointed out that KTM bikes cost them about $400m. I forget what the other diversion was but he said the 2 cost them about $1.2B.

When I see Husky e-bikes on the floor at Elite, I just say WTF.

The throw it at the wall approach.

Yeah, the foray into bicycles from moto companies has always felt strange to me - not just with KTM.

They have a LOT to do to earn back customers trust and perception of reliability. And, at the end of the day, Bajaj will be calling the shots with regards to where manufacturing will happen.

I believe this video was recorded in July. I’d like to see an update of the state of the company, manufacturing, and quality control.
