Moab weekend after math

Wasn’t sure if this past weekends Moab ride took a toll on anyone else’s bike.
My 1290 has the following damage;
~ a fresh dent in the front wheel but holds air.
~ start stop button cluster cracked in half, but is still functional but missing the special function button.
~ one sub frame bolt was missing, I thought it was shaking and clanking more than usual.
~ a few new scrapes on the crash bars and dents in the skid plate.
Other than some bumps and bruises, it was a pretty successful weekend ride all in all.

I never did like math.

I felt like I did pretty good. 10 day trip, zero bike drops. Blown fork seal on the dirtbike was the only damage.

I scuffed up one of the graphics on the side of my KTM trying to squeeze through a particularly narrow section of sovereign single track. I’ve never been one for looks though. Growing up my mom always told me I had a great face for radio.

The heat this weekend exposed an issue with the 790 tank heating up and not properly venting. So I have a couple hose clamps to replace and a Venasche gas cap to install which hopefully improves things. Otherwise, will do a flapendectomy on the cap.

Also have a fuel delivery or electrical issue to sort on the 500. Oh and when I was unloading the 500 this morning I found that the master link clip had been bent somehow and was only half on.

And I lost nearly all of my tools when my tool pouch strapped to 500 rear fender decided to eject. So will be buying a better tool pouch, a set of box wrenches, crescent wrench…and I found another 10mm socket in the garage, which we all know is like Xmas in March.

Adding to my tools:

Hose clamps
Fuel filter / connector o rings
Fasteners
Tusk jumper battery and retire my current one to the van.

That’s the short list

Are you trying to take YARD SALE from @Emmanuel_chaves?

Nope still owns the title.

I rode out towards Chicken Corners, figuring I’d run into Steve, John, Chris, and Emmanuel. I was only a couple miles from the end but hadn’t seen them. Started to think maybe they had ducked into Kane Creek.

Then I saw two (2) pannier racks on the trail and knew I was on the right track. Yep, his racks, broken welds

actual LOL

I will blame my tire pressure for all the broken welds. I thought running 32 psi would avoid pinches, but it ended up putting extra stress on my bike’s accessories (which are dubious quality anyways)..

@Rich_Strauss you forgot to mention the few hundreds of dollars in tools you buried in the Moab sand :joy:. Yes, @mulebarn he is trying to take over my yard sale title

Nope. I have enough odds and ends in the garage to rebuild my kit. Only needed to order a new tool pouch and knipex pliers
