Thank you @RC_John for setting up the poll: ![]()
Adding poll as it might help organize results
- DS
- ADV
- Both
Awesome!
Starbucks is my kickstand.
Recommend adding unplated dirt bike to the list
For the purposes of this poll, let’s just say the DS = small bike, plated or not.
A DS can ride anywhere and anything and a non plated dirt bike can often hide in a herd of DS bikes if a pavement transfer is required.
Close enough and if you get stopped, we don’t know you

I feel the love.
In Colorado there’s not much excuse for not plating your dirt bike.
Agreed. My 300 2T “race edition” enduro bike has a plate on it, as does my XR 400. It is pretty easy to get it done in CO. The distinction I was trying to make was less plate vs no-plate and more between dirt-only race-oriented bikes (maybe less likely to get plated) and from-the-factory DS rigs, as well as between the type of riding one might do on either given some of the DS’s on-paper limitations. But, for the purposes of the riding the club focuses on and the point of the survey, Rich’s point is well-taken.
This is just an informal method of determining “if we organize a DS-focused ride, will people show up?”
Especially relevant since we are an ADV-focused club by definition.
