I know a bunch of us here are bicycle nerds. Does anybody besides myself like to ride pump track? I actually have a dirt jump bike just for this and it’s one of my favorite cardio exercises. I don’t know anything that spikes your heart rate faster. I don’t do it as often as I should, and I’d love to have others to help motivate me.
In other words, LFG.
I’m real bad at the track, but I like giving it a go… on a XC bike. More into XC/trail stuff, but I just like bikes.
Those are fun to ride a skateboard on
I do that too, but I prefer bikes for pump tracks.
I know a thing or two about skateboards. This is my back yard:
@BillMcGee skates! And @Ddejong
Oh dude. I’m about to instabro on @309.
Me skating that backyarder would be kinda like old people fucking - it would get done, but it would be something nobody wants to see.
And back on your original post - I ride a skateboard or my hardtail MTB at pump tracks and I like it!
Pump tracks are a blast on BMX or boards!
That’s amazing! It fits too, when I met you in Moab I thought you had at least used to skate.
I now have another bike purchase to make. Although I could try on my hard tail. Ive gone to the one in Broomfield, and the ‘green’ run at Erie downhill is very pump oriented. I think theres a pump track in firestone now too
As long as you can drop your post and lock out the rear suspension, MTB seems to work just fine on the pump track, judging by the kid that shreds the Erie track on a full suspension rig, with manuals over big rollers and large transfer airs. I am not much good at the whole thing, but I agree with @309 , it’s a great cardio workout, and fun as hell. And @RC_John , yes now you need a new bike, because the bikes are cool as shit.
@309 I am happy to travel to a track, let’s do it one day soon. The Boulder Bike Park track is fun. Broomfield’s track is fucking ridiculous, see photo. The Erie track is pretty cool. And riding the skate bowls in Longmont is actually a blast on a bike, too.
@MotoJason and I met a couple from Denver at the Erie track who were on boards, and having a blast. They were on a mission to skate all the pump tracks in the region, it was cool.
I’d say the Broomfield pump track is the best in the area that I have ridden. It’s not usually as crowded as the Erie track gets either.
I have muscle memory for erie. Been… hundreds of times probably. Suck at manuals though, but its my normal exercise spot for mtb skills training. But I’ll never say no to another bike hehe
I think I’ve ridden most of them and I agree Anthem in Broomfield is probably the best. The smaller one in Broomfield off the tollway is fun too. I like Erie but often pretty busy. There’s a little one in Fredrick/Firestone I like as well.
Let’s try to meet up at one on a weeknight. I’m pretty busy this week but I’ll look at a calendar and try to come up with something.
Berthoud bike park has a pump track but it seems to attract lots of little kids.

Same with Erie. It can get spooky with kids dropping in without paying attention.
All of them get crowded with little kids. Worse than skateparks, and that’s saying something.
The Berthoud bike park is really fun!
