Ride this weekend?

I finally got my bike sorted after the BDR trip back in late August. Anybody riding this weekend that wouldn’t mind some company?

Im going to be out on bike one of the days for sure.. Maybe sat AM. Nothing crazy as I have afternoon plans. But either exploring some Switzerland offshoot, back to Pierson, bunce, johnny Park, etc. Tbd.

Saturday morning would be good for me. I’ve been wanting to check out some of the Switz off shoots. I’m not familiar with the others you mentioned yet. I’d be game to check them out but I’ve heard at least part of Bunce would be beyond me on my GSA850.

I’m in and have only explored some of the north Switz side side jeep type trails. Just no Penn Gulch

Would need to be back by 1 pm for me

Watching for departure time, I may be able to go.

I hit North Switzerland a few weeks ago, I haven’t played in the off shoots tho.

I’m interested in joining too. I’m trying out a buddies 690 this weekend and that sounds fun.

Thanks

Mark

How was it? I haven’t been in years. I heard its A level?

If by north Switz you mean turn right vs left at the intersection of Gold Hill and Switz as you’re riding towards P2P, yes, it’s spicy.

  • Of camber climb with a left and some roots
  • Then a short steep rocky climb. Loose rocks
  • Then a nearly identical 2nd climb.

Neither of these climbs require you to also go around anything. Just keep momentum up and don’t stop.

IOW, this end of Switz is the significantly harder then the rest of the road / trail

Thanks dude. Sounds fun. But probably skipping that for tomorrow for me. Mostly as I have some afternoon stuff.

You could do it on the front end. Once you get over it it drops you onto Sawmill. Turn right to go down to Lefthand, left back to Gold Hill Rd

What is the meeting time and place? I may join.

I have to be at Sweney MX Ranch in Brush tomorrow by 4pm to work registration for our vintage motocross race there on Sunday. If I get all of my stuff prepped and loaded today I might able to get out for an ADV ride in the morning.

I would like to join you guys Sat am for a local ride. Sunday I have a Trials competition but a day ride sounds good to me, just let me know when and where and what kind of riding so I can decide on which bike to ride - thanks. This will be only my second ride with the group but stoked to re-connect.

Where are you riding trials? I have done vintage AHRMA trials on my 75 KT250, but have not done any modern trials.

This weekend is the last RMTA event on Sunday in Lake George - https://rockymountaintrials.org/

I am new to Trials but enjoying it so far! My friend Danny Holloway got me into it.

My buddy Roy Moline rides some of the RMTA events. My neighbor used to run the MSTA series but they have not run many events since covid. I want to try the twin shock class at an RMTA event. I’m pretty bad at trials, I swear it makes me feel like I have A.D.D. trying to ride while reading the section markers!

I’m indifferent, other than this ride will be lower-key for me as I am needing to be somewhat usable in the afternoon, without major injury or fatigue

I’m ok doing JP / Pierson again, or Some of switz offshoot trail exploration, etc.

Danny Holloway also the cyclist or different guy?

He’s a MTB guy, but I think of him as Moto first

Alright gents, where we at? Im planning to make it fairly early, like 9am somewhere as a meet up. We have a mix of Switz or some JP interest. JP is big bike friendly, Pierson gets a little more interesting with a mild descent but is otherwise a B route, or big bike A route due to one or 2 spots.
