Hey All,
I want to get some bags for my dual sport that will hold up under thrashing. There are a whole lot of similar looking Chinese options around $150 on Amazon, and then there’s the $350 Tusk Excursion option, and then it seems to step up to the $750 Mosko Moto Alpine. I’m sure I could trust Mosko, but if the other options actually work, I’d rather spend less.
What do you all recommend?

Since this isn’t really a review but a request, feel free to move this to a more appropriate section!
How much capacity are you looking for?
Have these Tusk Traverse bags for the 500, excellent for day rides or CC camping with a small duffel strapped to the back.
I have the Tusk equivalent of the Reckless 40 on Kandi’s bike. It’s a good system but the base isn’t as configurable as the Mosko version.
I’ve been very impressed with the Nomad Moto rackless bags I recently added to the 790. It’s a rackless base to which you attached their roll-top panniers. Everything is super sturdy, light, and water proof. Good value too. You could obviously just run the panniers without the duffel. Each side is 20L

Those Nomad bags look nice. They look big enough for a bdr, but that’s probably more storage than I need. I’m not sure how much capacity I really need, I just want room for gear for a single night camping, ideally. Something small enough that I can leave on the bike all the time, and cinch down the side bags when they’re not filled with stuff.
I guess one important detail is that it needs to be compatible with my rear tank, which is similar to a 690 or 701.
The base has a removable cutout to accommodate a rear tank.
Their Stockman bags are smaller, 12L I think.
FWIW, the default…nature?…of these bags is that they are collapsed / narrow. That is, they are only expanded as you fill them. They are not expanded / wide by default.
