Riding Saturday? Read this important info.

(I’m posting this as its own thread, but this is also in the main ride plan thread)

Given that we have nearly 40 reservations on the BoCo Intro Ride Saturday, a few things are IMPORTANT to avoid chaos, and make it a fun day for everyone.

  1. Come with the GPX tracks already set up on your device, and know how they work.

  2. Come with your radio programmed, on, and tested on the right channel/frequency.

With a group like this, there’s no way we can all ride together beyond a regroup at Gold Hill, and then again at the beginning of Switzerland Trail. Beyond that, things are going to massively spread out.

Rich and I are going to encourage everyone to find a small group to ride with (even within the A/B groups) and take care of each other. This usually happens naturally. This is all a direct extension of everything covered in Rich’s classes this winter.

The most important thing on our rides is: Be cool and courteous. You are officially an ambassador of BCADV when you’re on one of our rides, and we are here to build community, and leave a positive impression everywhere we go. Give bicycles and hikers the right of way, and a huge berth. Have patience with the Texas wheelchair drivers on Switzerland even though it’s hard. Spread nothing but joy and stoke. Do not ride like an asshole, ever. We have nothing to prove, beyond other people can interact with BCADV riders and know it’s going to be positive.

Lastly, are there any folks in the group planning to do the C ride? Please speak up, as I want to plan accordingly.

See you Saturday.
