Howdy. I just found out about your group yesterday when I saw the bikes assembled at Community Plaza. Unfortunately I saw everyone too late to go home and get my bike! Sounds like the group ride was great.
I reentered the motorcycle world two years ago when I bought my son a dirt bike (and one for myself too). I found a pair of XR200Rs for a price I could afford and started teaching my son (then 15 years old) to rideā¦none too soon in his opinionā¦ I had not been on a bike in almost 20 years and had limited dirt experience. I had a 1988 K75S before my kids were born. Heās surpassed me now in skills at 17 years old but it has been great to ride with him on the trails and learn the ins and outs of dirt riding. Riding dirt bikes brought back everything about riding motorcycles from my pastā¦and how much I missed it.
When I bought my K75S I really wanted a R800GS but couldnāt afford one. The sport tourer was great and I miss it but the ADV bug never died. Last August I picked up a 2018 KLR as a retirement present to myself. It was that or a new upland shotgun. The bike wonāt out and I ride most days now. Iām looking forward to my first moto camping trip this spring. I was super jazzed to run into this group because I ride solo these days. Iāve drifted apart from the guys I rode with years ago.
I bought the Sertao recently so Iād have two bikes because my son wants to get his motorcycle licenseā¦so Iām starting him on a low power bike. Heād prefer a sport bike but since Iām still calling some of the shots heāll have to put up. I just want to give as much of a base and as many skills as I can before he turns 18 and starts riding sport bikes! Iām hoping to get him to go on a moto camping trip with me before he flys the coop after high school. Iām holding out hope my daughter will ride with me some day. She is interested but too busy in college to learn right now.
Iām still learning and am a slow riderā¦but Iām wanting to get better. The KLR is running Shinko 705s so itās not well suited to more than graded dirt roads but the Sertao has pretty new 50/50 tires so once I get it a bit adjusted to my liking itāll be good to go. Iām terrible at remembering to take pictures but I was able to dig theses three up. The KLR is wearing Tusk hard cases now and Iāve deleted the top box. The Sertao is free of any luggage. The factory bags are kind of loose and janky. Iād like to get soft bags for it once I get some racks.

Iām Allen and just getting into moto - picked up a closeout '24 FE350 early this winter. Working with @Evel-ONievel and @Garrett_Getter to start up a next generation moto seat + ergonomics business called Leap Motorsports Ltd.
Background as a pro cyclocross athlete and actually teammates with @NikkiD for a year or two in there! Just shy of 20 years as a freelance commercial filmmaker and photographer (http://HardcastleFilms.com) here in Boulder. Hoping to produce more work in the moto arena going forward and another reason for diving in. (Yesā¦the bike is for workā¦)
Quickly finding my way around enduro trail riding thanks to Nicole and other folks for showing me around (Switzerland, 509, etc) and also waiting for me to pick my bike up. Getting much more self sufficient on tech and looking to do more high country exploring as trails open up. Available weekdays when I dont have shoots.

Hi everyone, Iām Tim. Iām fairly new to the adv life and consequently you can find me picking up my bike along the trails as you fly by in judgement. I ride a Honda Transalp 750 and itās been a lot of fun coming over from an old cruiser. Looking to increase my skills so I can decrease the time I spend examining the ground.

Howdy, Squad! Good to be here. Iām Greg, new to moto but a long time MTB and cyclocross racer nerd for over two decades. Essentially, I do anything that @Hardcastle and @NikkiD tell me to do, so I bought myself a KTM 350 XWR which is bonkers. Then they told me to join this here user-list and now I am here to meet more of yāall! I had a Tenere 700 before the KTM which was crazy fun as well. Different horse for a different course for sure. Anyhoo, I am truly looking to do some riding to grow and learn and sharpen my skills. Iām a ābeginnermediateā and have zero ego. Learning is living. I am coming back from a fully ruptured hamstring earlier this spring which happened at Miller Rock so easing back into stuff but would love to get out on some rides and have some fun. Some pics for ya.

Hi All,
Iām Mike. Iāve been riding on pavement since I got my license at 17, but only started riding dirt a few years ago. I relocated to the denver metro area last summer from Ridgecrest CA, and was even able to join BCADV on a group ride for the first time last month. Hopefully the first of many. I want to explore more dirt routes, get into some single track again, maybe even an overnight moto camping adventure. I ride a WR250R and a GSX8TT, and most weekend Iām outside either riding or climbing, but always in the mountains. Looking for a new crew since I couldnāt take my California friends with me.

Greetings fellow Earthlings. My name is Brian and I heard good things about you guys, so Iām happy to be here. Same username on ADVRider for those who dabble there.
Anyways my wife and I are trying to meet more people and do more exploring - she has a 310GS, I have a DR650 and a plated XR400. Weāre based in Lafayette.
I heard the term beginnermediate used somewhere here, and thatās where I am off-road. Confident enough to try it, but old enough to know when to just turn around! My only goals are to fall well, have fun, get better, and most importantly get the bike and myself home in operable condition.
I have toured and motocamped all across the country on a bigger bike, but the DR is my happy place right now. Heading out next Friday to do a lap around the Uintas and meet my wife and a friend in Park City (sheās driving for this trip). No solid itinerary, just a week off work, some waypoints and a few ideas.
Weāll swing by RayBack next Tuesday if we can.

Hey Iām Zac, used to live in Boulder County (Lafayette) but sadly didnāt learn about you guys until I moved down South to Monument!
Anyways, between me and my wife, Katie, we currently have 6 bikes - essentially 3 pairs.
Street - 2024 BMW R12 (me) 2019 Triumph Street Twin (wife)
Dirt - CRF450RL (me) KLX140 (wife)
ADV - Africa Twin (me) CRF300L (wife)
We moved to Colorado about 4 years ago. Shortly after moving here, one night with nothing better to do, we decided to take my convertible up Flagstaff Mountain. Saw tons of motorcycles riding up and down the road and said out loud ānow this looks like a great motorcycle roadā. I had ridden in my early 20s in Texas but the heat and the area I lived in made it tough to enjoy. My now wife replied āIāve always wanted to learn to ride a motorcycleā and we immediately got her into the soonest MSF.
Ever since, our lives have grown more and more motorcycle-centricā¦ Weāve met so many other riding couples and great friends in the past few years, and weāre excited to meet more! We love riding around the state on everything from paved roads to tougher rocky trails, and we hope to see some of yāall out on a ride sometime!
