3rd Annual Passapalooza! July 11th

Hi All,

Passapalooza is an annual A-group intermediate/advanced ride starting and ending in Evergreen. We’ll ride Squaw pass to the Devil’s Canyon loop, Squaw pass some more to some mining roads to Dumont, then i70 to Loveland Pass to Keystone to Montezuma. Webster pass to some fun Forest Service Roads to Georgia Pass to Breckenridge. i70 back to Idaho Springs, then dirt up to Squaw Pass, and back down to food and beverages. In the past it started and ended at my house, but I have a feeling there will be a lot more riders this years with how the group has grown.

Starts at Bivouac Coffee, 1552 Bergen Pkwy # 303, Evergreen, CO 80439

KSU at 9am

Ends at the same address, same parking lot, different place: Woodcellar Bar and Grill.

There isn’t anything super hard on this ride, but it is a LONG DAY riding rocky terrain. “68J skills” are a must. About 180 miles total and about half that offroad. No street tires, no hard luggage, and please come with what you need to change your own tire. There are two significant water crossings. The pavement miles are either scenic, twisty or both! Opportunities to get gas are 70 miles in and again about 130 miles in.

If someone want to try to plan & lead a concurrent B/C group ride, then go for it!

I will post the GPX files for the routes later, but you can see some video of the route in this post: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AkT9KS2JQ/

Should we work out a B alternative as well?

Yes! Something that ended with Boreas pass could have the two groups end up in Breckenridge at the same time. The trick would be to make the rides similar in duration.

Thanks for organizing! I haven’t been able to make any of these and I haven’t ridden these area so this is definitely going on the calendar.

I’ve added a poll to the first post so @LeightonCash can get an idea of headcount.

If there was a B/C group ride I’d definitely be in.

Let’s work on it in the Spring. I’m down.
