Looking to ride an 890/901

Pretty well equipped…

This one has my eye right now but I’m not serious yet. At least that’s what I keep telling myself.

What @Rich_Strauss says is true. However, we are taller.

My 901 is an og 2022. At the time I had no idea I would get into riding the type of stuff I ended up doing. The suspension is not great for the relentless rocky shit, but it is more comfy on the pavement than an 890. All I did was change springs to accommodate my obesity.
The Expedition was not out when I bought mine, and I really wish I had one. And if I was doing it over right now, I’d get that vs an 890 Adventure R. The suspension components are pretty similar between an Expedition and the Adv R, but the 901 E still has a suspension tune that makes it slightly more compliant for the fist part of the travel. So it’s best of both worlds - still comfy on pavement and still able to get super rowdy.

This is amazing

Back of my calves. Those tattoos are older than a lot of BCADV members.

I put 110 slow, gentle, careful miles on @Kurdz2408 890 today.

Anybody want to buy a nice, well equipped 1090? There will be one for sale soonish.

Always good to help someone spend money on new bikes. Lol.

I pulled the trigger on a 24 Norden 901 Expedition. Damn near robbed the guy…..

And with that, my ADV quiver is complete. Let the farkling begin!

That’s real niiice.

And with some unobtanium HDB hand guards too! Man I don’t know what I’m going to do without those.

Looks real clean. How many miles?

Highly recommend the Camel ADV 1-finger clutch kit. It widens the clutch engagement zone by 60%.

The stock tower on the Nordens bounces around quite a bit. There’s a guy on https://www.nordenforums.com/ that makes braces that other inmates have rated highly. They are on the list to buy.

More low hanging fruit: larger footpegs (highly recommend), headlight protector, the Perun rear rack, and tank gripper pads (Techspec makes a set that fits very well).

Have fun. I love mine.

Sweet. Thanks for the reccs. New tires stat.

Yeah, barely ridden, all pavement. 1600 miles. $10k. Guy needed to get rid of it quick.

10k?? I’m calling the cops.

Also, the Wings titanium slip-on saves 3 lbs and sounds good.

I found the stock Rally STRs to be super capable on eveything but sand and wet, FWIW.

Such a sweet find, @Colin_Fitzpatrick!

I think they have the O2 sensor thing worked out now, which means you can do a decat. I have stock exhaust and Arrow decat and it helps with heat, helped with throttle response, and sounds pretty cool.

The Vanasche footpegs are awesome and will give you a little extra legroom. I’ve heard stories of the NiceCNC knock offs of those pegs breaking, so I’d pay the money for the real ones. Other stuff from NiceCNC is usually ok.

Scott’s steering Stabilizer was life changing for me on this bike.

I took off my passenger handles and I also take off the side plastics when I run the Mosko R80. It brings them way tighter to the bike.

The Hepco crash bars you saw yesterday on mine were the only option back in ‘22. Now a lot of guys are just running an AXP skid plate and no crash bars. And now there are other options if you do want crash bars.

I think crash bars are overkill on the 790/890. Maybe the Norden. The gas tank is very robust. Not a fan of the fuel pump placement though.
