The Norden is wider and way more prone to cracked fairings than the 890. Similar DNA, wildly different bikes though. On mine, I ran the battleship skid plate, and light aluminum bars from Cross Pro.

The Norden fairings/radiator shrouds are much wider. That’s what the crash bars are protecting, @Rich_Strauss, not the tanks . I run the same set @mulebarn shows in his photos, and they have scars. Without them the fairings would be toast.

Well I didn’t want to do anything to rash or impulse so I waited almost an entire week between starting this thread and buying an 890. Picked it up today. 2023 890 Adventure R.
2200 miles. Tech pack, Yoshi pipe and cat delete, Touratech seat, Vanasche pegs, heated grips and brand new Motoz tires.
I’ll be making some changes but a lot of stuff will swap over from my 1090, saving me coin.
Any tall guys that are interested in this tall, cushy seat or taller windscreen hit me up.

Hey Saul - I have a seat concepts seat for sale. It came off a 2024 890 Rally but I think it will fit. It’s a Low. Used just a couple times. Club member pricing for you!
If those are the stock handguards they’ll last exactly 1.35 falls, FYI. I put Molecule handguards on mine, after you told me about the cluster that is HBD guards

Thanks but no low seats for me. Even though I’ve got short legs, I’ve also got the knees of a middle aged skateboarder and appreciate some room between the seat and the pegs. I’ve got to find the middle ground between that and being able to dab or back out of parking spots. I have a Seat Concepts tall rally seat in my 1090 and will probably put the same on this. The touratech seat is not just tall, it’s also wide and a little soft. Comfy but not for me.

How do you like the Molecues?
I’ll probably swap the whole cockpit from my 1090 over. Bars, HDB handguards and the BRP damped mount for my Scotts damper. I’m pretty particular about that stuff and the 1090 is just right. I’ll need a few parts from BRP but I talked to them and they’re willing to sell me just the pieces I need.
I’d go that route. I haven’t stripped the 990 for parts yet. Still hopeful
The 1090 will run again, hopefully soon. I need the room in the garage! I’m not stripping it, I’ll just swap some of my aftermarket stuff for stock.
One great thing is the wheels are a direct swap. That means I’ll have three sets for the 890: stock, strong narrow dirt rims and a set of 19/17 wheels for street or track days.

I forgot you and I share that! Although I guess I’m not middle aged skater anymore, I think I’m senior citizen skater at this point. 
And yeah I actually reposition my seat to the high setting for long travel days on pavement. It’s tip toes at a stop sign but much kinder to the knees while riding.
