This can be a great beginner friendly route or chill Saturday doing some leaf peeping. The goal is to have an accessible ride that everyone can feel comfortable with. We can ride Buckhorn and head over Pennock Pass and down onto Pingree Park Road and onto Poudre Canyon and Rustic. From Rustic there are options To peel off and take pavement back to the parking area or continue on to Red Feather Lakes and beyond. There is a lot of flexibility to make this as long or short of ride as you’d like.

Admin: Bring water, tools, snacks, and start with a full tank of gas. Looks like there is gas in Rustic and Red Feather lakes. May try to get some lunch in Red Feather Lakes depending on pace. Bring your radios, programmed, charged, and on.
Sounds like a fun ride, and an area I haven’t yet explored. Unfortunately I have prior commitments on the 19th but will try to follow in your footsteps on Sunday.
The aspens are popping right now, by Saturday I imagine they’ll be close to peak.
Sorry to miss this ride as well, I’ll be starting the final leg of my TAT journey in North East Utah, up across Idaho through Oregon to the coast and back staying central through Idaho on the return.

Go Birds. Starting next week in DC, then up to Philly (home/family) on Thursday to meet with a start-up, and then up to Penn State next weekend for homecoming.
