Now that summer is here after such a hard winter, it was time to get out on the bikes before meeting at the Dark Horse for lunch…
We met at Spruce in NoBo for introductions and to welcome some new-to-riding-with-us members. 10-11x ADV bikes all parked in a row always get looks in Boulder.
Just an easy, chill day: Mapleton / Sunshine Canyon to Poorman to Four Mile to Gold Hill. Quick pic at the entrance to Switzerland, where I also gave a few notes on how I like to lead group rides, so everyone could be on the same page.
On Friday, I had seen pics of ice and snow on Switzerland so we only stopped here briefly before continuing to P2P. We ducked into a parking lot just inside town where I asked if everyone was up for coffee at Salto. It was about 40f up top, unusually cold for Feb, and a few of us hadn’t layered correctly so the vote was a YES.
Coffee and conversation outside before when then rode down Boulder Canyon to the Dark Horse. It was absolutely packed so we quickly noped-out and went to the Boulder Social Club instead for sandwiches and burritos.
