Welcome to BCADV! 👋 Introduce yourself

Welcome! Good to see another couple that rides. We need to hook up a couple ride and/or camping trip at some point.

Welcome, Lyra! We usually do weekly rides of some sort, and a few big multi-day rides every year. And per your bio, there are lots of cyclists/MTBers in the group you can stop for. :slightly_smiling_face:

Howdy, I’m Bill and I live in Broomfield. Getting back into bikes after about 15 years off. Just bought a Yamaha WR250R and have been riding Switzerland and Boulder County dirt roads. Still kinda slow and building confidence. Would love to meet some people to ride with.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome!

I’m Dustin, most people call me a mountain biker but I’ve been riding and racing dirt bikes for about 10 years as well.

My journey into the ADV/Dual Sport world started when I wanted to get my now wife into riding and she had no two wheeled experience. A couple weeks after I taught her how to ride in a parking lot we took a trip to the Alpine loop and she rode Cinnamon, Corkscrew, Hurricane, California and we were hooked! We even did a week long ADV trip through the Balkans for our honeymoon.

I’ve got a DRZ400S that is actually for sale, I’m not yet sure exactly what will replace it but realistically our riding together has been more offroad focused so its a bit redundant.

Most of motorcycle experience has been in offroad racing. I help organize the Rocky Mountain Enduro Circuit (RMEC) and dabble in a few other race series and electric motorcycle testing. I recently got 3rd in electric pro (47th OA) at TKO in August on a prototype bike which has since been released. I also love doing multi day offroad routes formerly known as dual sporting. A few years ago I even created an across Colorado mostly singletrack route called the Colorado Ultra Enduro route which now has a few finishers (https://www.coloradoultraenduro.com/). I recently completed the Ridaho Grit 1 route which falls somewhere between ADV & Enduro in style and wrote about it here as well https://grit1enduro.blogspot.com/.

Hope to see you guys out on the trails!

Welcome aboard, Bill!

Welcome, Dustin!

That Ultra Enduro Route looks fun - thanks for sharing that!

Hey all, I’m Erich.

My family and I moved here about four years ago, and we now live in Broomfield. My wife is glad to be back in Colorado; her family is spread out from Boulder to Parker. I, like some of you, stopped riding after our daughter was born and started back up when she left for college, so an eighteen-year hiatus. My big bike is a 2016 KTM 1290 SA, and my little bike is a 2025 KTM 500 excf. The bike I ride the most is a Trek Checkpoint SLR 9 gravel bike… It was nice meeting some of you last week, and getting advice on where to go to become a better off-road rider. Looking forward to meeting more of you and riding.

Welcome!

Hello! I’m Nick. Thank you for allowing me to lurk and false start joining the group for an initial ride. I built up a CRF450RL with quite a few add-ons and swaps to make it more techie terrain friendly. I’ve been riding every weekend during “season” locally and some in Summit and Lake Counties. I enjoy going a little too fast on the Switzerland Trail and the OHV area above Central City. This is my first DS moto. I’ve been on cruiser platforms for a few decades and rode an R1100GS for 11 years.

I lived in Summit for about 12 years. I had a professional job spinning IT for the resorts but my heart and passion was more closely tied to being a Telemark ski instructor/trainer for A-Basin and Beaver Creek and a xc mountain bike racer and die-hard roadie. I was part of the Rocky Mountain Division that reformulated the “better” way to make a tele turn. My daughter says that only old people tele ski. I suppose she’s right. I’m 63 …so I might profile as old.

I really like everything that has been modified on my ride: Vortex ECU, Yoshi exhaust, dbl take mirros, Rekluse auto clutch, heavier flywheel, larger rear sprocket, Scott’s steering damper, IMS 3 gal tank, Steg Pegs, AS rear rack frame, Bark Busters, Tubliss (to run 10 - 20 psi without rim strikes), Larger grippier pegs, high rise bar and non-DOT knobbies. …I have a few more things to add when stock is available.

I always carry tools, wet/cold weather clothes, battery jump, electric air pump, straps, flat kit, first aid. I need to get an in-reach device …maybe for xmas.

I was a MOFA certified, S&R dog handler/trainer for Front Range Rescue Dogs in the 80s and 90s. I certified the 3rd and 4th S&R dogs for Boulder and Gilpin counties. I think FRRD is still an active group. I did my share of body bagging and over 30 fruitless searches with 2 live body finds. It’s not my cup of tea. Love the dogs and the training though.

I pioneered the mountain biking scene with a core group of friends in Leadville after a friend, Bill Perkins, started the Leadville 100 trail run. Look at what it’s become …yikes! BTW, Lance cheated that race and stole the rightful win from David Wiens. I saw him ditch on Columbine, run a few yards off trail and stick a needle in his ass. I told him too. Sharing for color.

Would love to meet up at the trail head. I rarely ride the tarmac …but I can, even though the non-DOT knobbies aren’t emergency braking and hard cornering friendly. So, I’m slow and cautious on the tarmac.

Cheers!!

Welcome! LOL re: Lance.

Thank you!

Hi. My name is Steven. I live in Longmont. I ride both enduro and adventure motorcycles. I have a ktm 450xcw and an 890r. My wife also rides with me. She has a Kim 350xcw and a 2022 390 adventure. I work weekends so only ride on weekdays. Makes for empty trails but hard to find people to ride with. Very happy to be here and looking forward to finding some people to ride with.

Welcome, many Longmonsters in here.

What bag system is that on your 890?

Steven - welcome - about time you stopped lurking! Let’s go ride and I’ll try to stay on the bike this time

Welcome! I much prefer weekdays, so we can make that happen.
