May 15: Longmont -- Evergreen -- Bivouac Coffee

Impromptu mostly road, some scenic dirt ride.

@mulebarn and I meeting at the Sinclair on Hover in Longmont at 9a today, riding to Evergreen via Ward, P2P, Black Hawk, OMG Road, Idaho Springs, Soda Creek Rd to Evergreen for coffee. He has to be back in Longmont by about 2:30p, I believe, so he will be taking the most direct route back. I may do the same, dunno.

I’m kinda testing my NMBDR load out for next week, so excuse the loaded 790 for a day ride.

Post up here if you plan to join us and we’ll see you there. We’re leaving on time, not waiting, so if you’re running a little late, take the fastest way to Ned and join us as we roll through town.

Once you are heading up Little Bear Creek rd to Evergreen, consider bypassing the gravel road switchbacks by taking the more direct route up on Old Little Bear Creek Rd. It’s a fun, easy A-group jeep road that will be more like BDR stuff than the gravel roads on your ride.

This is a fun, quick little 10 minute detour off of virginia canyon road, after you pass the ghost town disc golf place. Google Maps says it’s Druid Mine Rd, but the street sign says Pewabic Mine Rd. It’s a big bike friendly, fun to ride around on the mining tailing piles, and see the old mining structures. Google Maps

Thanks, we’ll save that for another day

I believe @mulebarn and I had a @LeightonCash siting as we were riding into Evergreen. Can’t imagine there’s more than one Kove in Evergreen…

You did! I was heading to meet Michael Howard in Dumont, to tackle Spring Creek. I wasn’t certain it was you two, because I didn’t know Gino was on a f900gs. Otherwise I would have turned around and tried to catch up to say hi. But I felt the BCADV force as y’all rode by. That was just up from my house, I live right off Witter Gulch.

Nice! So good bumping into you. Yeah, I guess I should post the 900 to the ‘new bike day’ thread.
