Ride Report: Sept 12-14, 20, 21, 28

Yo

Been doing some good bit of riding this month, currently sitting on the front porch, post ride, Moscow Mule in hand…

Sep 12-14: Kinda Fall Colors Ride with My Gal
Kandi and I have been going 1000mph all summer. She’s absolutely crushing a new position with a new company and I’m starting a business or two. We had a van-camp-and-ride on the books but with zero planning and preparation, we loaded up the van and bikes on a trailer and setup a basecamp on Friday at Lynx Pass, on the BDR route south of Steamboat.
Unloaded the bike and did a very short ride Friday evening. Enjoyed dinner and a fire under the van awning in the rain.

Saturday looked like rain so we took the van for a scenic drive to Hot Sulphur Springs. Got our hot springs and go absolutely dumped on for the drive back. We said several times “today was a good day to NOT be on the bikes.” Another dinner at the campground.

Sunday we slept in and decided to just take our time in camp and head home.

So what began as a 3 day weekend of camping riding turned into a much needed weekend of off-the-grid relaxing and catching up after a very busy summer. Much needed.

Sept 20th – our monthly shop ride out of Elite and I believe we had about 15 riders? Route was blah blah to Gold Hill, Switzerland, P2P, through Ned. I took a small A-group of about 4 guys through WestMag to Rollinsville while Gino took everyone else to the Tolland Tunnel, where the A-group joined them. Then everyone rode to Toss in Rollinsville for pizza.

Post up pics if you took in any.

Sept 21st: I met The Chris’es, @ChrisL and Chris Cooley, aka Frenchy and Coolio at Gold Hill for a…challenging…day of singletrack. In fact, some of the hardest 12 miles I’ve in a long time. When Frenchy and I had had enough to cruised to Bunce, then Johnny Park to St Vrain to Lyons for a burger and beer.

Another great day but I had this in my head for the morning bit.

Sept 28, today:
@MoJoe and I met at his place for a chill day of Johnny Park, Parachute, Peirson Park, Estes, P2P, Bunce, and Gold Hill. Perfect weather, scenery, and another great day on the bike.

Fall is here, Winter is coming, get on your bike and RIDE!

Yup, was a good ride! We also ran into @mulebarn @Paulo and @RC_John coming down Coulson gulch and then bumped into them again coming up Pierson. Was a perfect weather day, the fall colors are prime right now!
