Does it make sense to start a group text thread (cell phones)?
I see this as a group chat here (using the chat features of the forum) for pre-trip coordination (if any is needed) that could maybe be moved to a group SMS thread for day-of comms.
With my business I get a LOT of text messages. I don’t want this in there until it’s neccessary. It’s a mess

Last minute change of plans opened up my weekend ahead of time and I may just head out for Moab this Friday afternoon and hang out until everyone comes in. Still gotta work remotely Monday thru Wednesday. @309 if you’re there riding that Saturday, 3/14, feel free to hit me up. Thinking I’ll camp north of Canyonlands in the general vicinity noted in the thread above. Hoping to scout around for a big group site while I’m there and get @Rich_Strauss a head start in searching if I can.
Would be awesome if you could scout and claim an area for us
@309 has intel that Dead Cow Wash is closed. Not barricaded but maybe trail cams. Since we don’t have time to all hook up Mulebarn jerseys, so he can take the fall, on Sunday we’ll likely explore some fun stuff towards the sand dunes, play in there, then make our way over to Mary’s and Brian’s Trails, for some classic slickrock riding. That way anyone who doesn’t wnat to do those trails can still get to play in the dunes with us.
On Thursday we’ll pre-run most of this, as well as exploring in the general area.

I’ll have plenty of crap with me to cover some space. Will definitely look for a good spot to stake out, might be better to search Monday/Tuesday afternoon once the weekend crowd clears out. If you show up and decide my spot sucks, easy enough to look again. Ideal would be around the Canyonlands/Dead Horse park entrances with a chill road for campers/trailers, yeah?

I’ll be driving through Moab on my way to Phoenix Friday. Was planning to stop and ride there but I’ve decided to continue on and ride Valley of the Gods area on Saturday instead. If you want to go south, you’re welcome.
