Curious if anyone’s taken a big bike up Pennsylvania gulch, fun on a dirtbike, took the tenere about halfway up and realized it’s probably dumb to do that alone.

I did it once on the 500 when I first moved here 7yrs ago. Pretty narrow and would be tough to turn a big bike around if you had to get out
Yea, with the grade of the trail too, outside of the one pull off point at the beginning its sent or spent 
I thought it was blocked off or chained
Nope, just veer to the right it’s wide open, just has a sign that says “no jeeps with those stupid ducks” or something like that

20 years ago ago Pennsylvania Gulch was challenging but fun. I took an R1100GS on it once, that ride inspired my first dirt bike purchase. These pics are from one of the first rides I did on my 2006 KTM 950. Broke the sidestand switch.
All that said, that road is super torn up now. I’d ride it on a little bike, but not a big one.

@mulebarn @ChrisMunro and I got out for a short ride yesterday. Saw 2-3 SxS on trailers driving down Gold Hill Rd and another 3-4 staged at Switz parking.
They’re coming…
In 3-5yrs what little there is above Boulder will be blasted out like the Yankee Hill area

It’s been 25 years since attempting Pennsylvania Gulch on mountain bike. It was an excellent HIKE. Congrats to any of you that can ride it with all parts in tact at the end!
On a small bike the Gulch is pretty reasonable, but man, I can imagine going up it on a big bike would a real challenge!
I rode down on it yesterday on a small bike. As a newer rider it was good to do once and I did like it in that challenging way. For my skills going up it was not on the table yesterday, but would be ok on the small bike but not super fun, just a lot of work 
Big bike for newer/less skilled rider - no way. Feels like check the box ride and that’s enough
